Design Details
ULTRALIGHT CONSTRUCTION & PRECISION LOAD-TARGETED RIB CUTOUTS
To shave off every possible gram without compromising structural strength, the internal ribs undergo a targeted weight-reduction process. By removing non-structural material and leaving only what is required to distribute the loads, weight is minimized while preserving full canopy integrity (giving the ribs their distinct cutout appearance). Combined with 10D (25g) canopy fabric and 27g hard-finished rib material, total weight is reduced by up to 17% with a ~20% reduction in packing volume.
OPTIMIZED 5.7M & 6.5M LIGHT-WIND ARCHITECTURE
Instead of offering smaller 1.9m and 2.4m sizes which are available in the standard Pocket Rocket V2 —where weight savings offer diminishing returns—the Ultra-X lineup focuses heavily on the light-wind threshold: Two additional cells integrated into the 5.7m and 6.5m sizes refine canopy shaping, smoothing out the leading edge (LE) for increased lift and glide in soft breezes. The new 6.5m model drops the minimum wind range down to 8 knots for ultimate light-wind performance.
COLOR-CODED, SPLICE-COATED BRIDLE SYSTEM
The color-coded bridle setup utilizes stiff, specially coated and spliced line materials that feel very smooth in your hands. Lines hand-slide effortlessly, resist tangles, prevent skin rash during quick handling, and allow for lightning-fast redeployment.
90G MONOBLOC CARBON CONTROL BAR
At just 90 grams, the 35cm Monobloc Carbon Bar offers an ideal ergonomic balance between stashing convenience and direct steering feedback:
- Index Finger Overhang: Enhances depower control and overall comfort during extended riding.
- A-Line Protection Nub: Acts as an integrated stopper, offering extra grip and leverage between the index and middle fingers.
