Parawing Foiling
**Coming Out Soon - 2025 End of March & Beginning of April**
Parawing : The Future of Wave Riding!?
Parawinging is an innovative water sport combining elements of wing foiling, downwind foiling, kite foiling, and paragliding. Using a compact parachute-style wing (3-5 square meters), riders harness wind power to get up on foil without needing a wing or paddle. What truly sets Parawing apart is the ability to stow the wing in a waist-attachable pouch once riding, creating a hands-free, uninterrupted wave experience.
Born in Hawaii from foil surfers seeking alternatives to challenging paddle downwinding, Parawing requires competent foiling skills and winds of at least 15 knots to learn effectively. As we look toward 2025, Parawing is poised to revolutionize water sports with top kitesurfing brands embracing this innovation.
The equipment setup includes the parawing connected to a short bar via bridles and lines, paired with the appropriate foilboard based on weight and skill level—larger SUP or downwind boards for beginners, and more compact midlenght options for advanced riders.
While currently a niche discipline primarily for wave and swell catching, its potential continues to expand with possible applications even in wind related snow sports. Though less efficient than wing foiling and kite foiling, Parawing offers unmatched advantages in compact portability, easy relaunch after falls, and the pure, unobstructed gliding experience it provides—making it perfect for downwind enthusiasts seeking a distinctive riding experience.
