Warm Hands = More Sessions | Gloves & Mittens

Neoprene gloves and mittens are must-have accessories for kiteboarding, wingfoiling, and foiling in cold water conditions. They provide essential protection from the cold and allow you to ride longer in chilly temperatures. However, keep in mind that thicker gloves increase the risk of forearm and hand cramps.

Types of Gloves and Mittens

  • Five-Finger Gloves - These provide the best dexterity and are available in various thicknesses, typically ranging from 1.5mm to 5mm. They offer good flexibility but may not be as warm as other options.
  • Lobster Claw or Three-Finger Gloves - These are a compromise between warmth and dexterity. They keep your fingers warmer than five-finger gloves but still allow for some individual finger movement.
  • Mittens - These are the warmest option but sacrifice dexterity. They're ideal for extremely cold conditions.
  • Open Palm Mittens - These provide a balance between warmth and grip. They protect the back of your hand while leaving your palm exposed for better contact with the equipment.
  • Hybrid Gloves - A newer option combining a regular fingered glove with a mitten back cover, offering both warmth and flexibility.

Factors to Consider
