Sunova Carver | Casey Foilboard

Sizes :

5'2" x 20" x 4 1/2" @ 67L

5'10" x 20" x 5 1/8"  @ 85.3L

THE CARVER is the newest addition to the Casey foil range.

It is a design that has evolved with the sport of Downwind Foiling x Winging. Many of our customers were winging on their Aviator Downwind boards and enjoying the effortless glide and usability of the longer narrower boards.

Enter the Carver, this board fits nicely into the range, with sizes starting 4” shorter than the new Aviator Downwind. Designed as a light wind wing board that is built to carve effortlessly, and be so efficient you’ll be able to get on foil in just about any conditions. If you are an advanced winger, don’t let the name fool you, these boards are still built to boost huge airs.

If you’re looking for a one-board quiver, for effortless glides this is the one for you!

About the board

GENERAL GOAL | THEME OF THE BOARD:

An efficient wing board that will work well in light conditions right the way through to heavy conditions. Designed to be super efficient and get on foil with ease.

CONDITIONS IT'S WORKING BEST:

All wind strengths, Flatwater, Winging in waves or those looking for a looser feel due to decreased width.

SKILL LEVEL IT'S BEST FOR:

Intermediate to Pro

What you thought of when you designed it?

Originally designed as a board that would complement our Aviator Downwind range, many customers were enjoying the effortless glides of the longer boards. This design maneuvers better than a downwind board and is way more agile, but it also gets up way easier than your average wing board. …

What it possibly compromise on then?

It still will not be as efficient as the longer downwind boards when getting on foil.

Shape details summary | Design info

Outline

Narrower parallel outline, to diamond tail. The outline of this board is quite parallel, with a narrower nose and a wider diamond tail. This helps the board to cut through the water and get onto foil very easily.

Rails

Chined with hard bottom edges. The entire board has a defined chine all the way along from nose to tail, from the front foot back, the edges are super hard which helps release water and get you flying.

Rocker

Flat with nose kick. The entry rocker is sufficient for jumping and getting up, the tail rocker is super flat right out the back to help with planning early.

Bottom

Subtle rounded V to flat. The subtle V at the front helps the board on touchdowns, it won’t immediately stick and bog. The flat planing surface allows the board to glide effortlessly and glance quickly if you do come off foil.

Deck

Concave, with a number of different foot strap options.  We have a concave deck to get the rider as close to the foil as possible while maintaining the volume needed. It's a soft concave without any drastic edges so it doesn't trap water on the deck after takeoff.

FINAL STATEMENT

A middle ground of your wing board and downwind board, a true hybrid that will cover many conditions.

The Sunova Pilot Mid Foilboard might be more your jam!?

Are you thinking about getting into foil assist systems? Maybe the Sunova X Foil Drive Foilboard is what you truly need?!
