Types of Foilboards
Kite
In kite foiling, riders use a hydrofoil attached to a kite foilboard to glide over water. The AK Nomad and the Unifoil Nimitz are great examples of this category.
Wake
Wake foiling utilizes the wake generated by a boat to propel the rider forward without being tethered by a rope. This style mimics surf foiling but is performed in lakes or rivers. The wake foilboards used are similar to surfboards but equipped with hydrofoils that facilitate lift. Notable examples of these boards are the Slingshot WF-2 and the North Swell.
