Waydoo Fireproof Battery Box

Although the Waydoo Smart Battery encompasses multiple safety mechanisms and is very safe, given the technical limitation of the Li-ion battery, there is an extremely low probability that the battery cells inside may encounter a thermal runaway. A fully charged battery stores a tremendous amount of energy so that a thermal runaway may lead to severe consequences. That's why most airlines and logistics operators consider high-capacity Li-ion batteries dangerous.

Please follow these safety guidelines for Li-ion batteries:

1. Please store the battery in the safety box when it is not in use. If you need to recharge the battery, please do it with the batter inside the safety box.

2. Place the safety box in a ventilated and cool place (ventilation is crucial) with no flammable objects such as wood, fabric, etc. within the 1-meter range around the box.
Please do not place the safety box in a sleeping or resting place.

Battery Box Quick Guide

Before using the safety box for the first time, please complete the following configuration steps.

1. Take out the included high-durability water bag. Unscrew the lid of the water injection port and fill the bag with 19-21 liters of drinking water. The water level mush be situated between the two marked lines. Too much or too little water will affect the protection effectiveness.

2. After filing the water, use an air pump to inflate the plastic bag to the point where the bag is naturally stretched. Quickly screw the lid clockwise to prevent water and air leakage.

3. Put the water-and-air filled bag into the safety box. Please make sure the water-injection port faces downward and is submerged in water to prevent air from leaking out.

4. Finally, the battery is placed on top of the water bag, with the top of the battery facing up.

Please confirm and check the items below.

  • Check to see whether the battery is at a level position. If it is lopsided, the bag has an insufficient amount of air. Please fill the bag with more air.

  • Check that the battery sits at least 2cm above the water surface. More air is needed if the battery sits too close to the water surface.

  • Check that the top of the battery is below the edge of the safety box opening. Deflate the bag if the box lid cannot be fully closed.
