2019 Duotone Neo
Duotone's recent name change from North Kiteboarding temporarily overshadowed the fact that the company's kites are some of the best performing kites available today--including the 2019 Duotone Dice. So let's turn attention back to what matters, the kites.
What Duotone is saying about the 2019 Neo
The NEO is the ultimate wave riding weapon for all the riders out there who love to ride surfboards, offering excellent freeride abilities as a plus. It is the go-to kite for our pro team competing on the Strapless World Tour and the kite of choice for wave riders all over the world. For 2019 the goal was to further improve the handling and responsiveness of the kite. To achieve this, our designers had to think outside the box, and they came up with a unique concept. Special Flex Segments have been built into the leading edge allowing the kite to twist even more than before when turning. This has vastly improved the handling capabilities of the kite making it one of the most dynamic wave kites on the market today. The kite is also exceedingly stable in the air, with excellent drift, making it perfect for freeriding. If you want to get the most out of every wave session, the NEO is the kite for you!

2019 Duotone Control Bars
2019 Duotone Mini Click Bar
Duotone introduces the new 2019 Duotone Mini Click Bar. The Duotone Click Bar revolutionized how control their kites, and now the bar is available in a narrower version. The bar is only 42cm wide and a line length of 20m plus 2m extensions. This is a great bar for people with shorter arms, as described in our blog post here./p>
2019 Duotone Click Bar
The unique Trim Unit of the Click Bar enables you to power and depower in precise steps at the flick of a switch. To power up your kite, turn the Winder clockwise – this shortens the length of your backlines with every half turn. To depower the kite, simply push the button in the middle of the Winder and your backlines will lengthen again with every click. This is a great bar for people with shorter arms, as described in our blog post here./p>

Perfect for waves and strapless freestyle (and beginners)
I have been riding Duotone Neo's for a while and am glad to see that Duotone has continued the excellent performance. Compared to other wave kites I like the Neo for its excellent drift and the ability to just park the kite. The Neo reacts fast when you need it without pulling you off the wave/ board. I was pleasantly surprised how easy it was to ride waves with my 12 and 10 sqm with a shorter bar and lines. And the easy re-launching is a great feature when stuck between the waves.
For strapless freestyle the agility and drifting properties of the Neo gives you the opportunity to focus on your board and tricks and not care about your kite.
It is a great kite for twin tip riders as well. Easy to fly and forgiving with a great low end.
For me the Duotone Neo and Cabrinha Drifter are the best wave kites on the market at the moment.
Powerful kite, good for more than waves!
If you're looking for a powerful wave kite, you will like the Duotone Neo. The kite has good turning speed, which is helpful for pulling you through turns on a strapless surfboard, and it has great hang. An unexpected benefit of the Neo is that it's a great kite for TTers learning to jump. I often end up under my kite when I'm trying to jump, and the Neo doesn't fall on me when I land under the kite. I like the kite, but I wish it was a little smoother, like the Cabrinha Drifter. The Neo has a lot of grunt, and for a wave kite, I would like a little less grunt and a little more grace.
