The board features butterfly graphics designed by a local Hawaiian artist, Lori Koprowski, who describes her art as "heavenly influenced by the female form, ocean and sky and kites in the air" With her designs, she is "capturing the energy from the ocean and wind through texture and my color palette is driven by the sun and sea and colors of the kites on any given day.”
What Cabrinha is saying about the 2019 Cabrinha XO Kiteboard
The XO is specifically designed for female riders who appreciate versatile, predictable, performance, for any type of riding in a wide range of conditions.
The high level of women’s performance on the world kitesurfing stage commands a new approach to equipment design. The XO is a high performance freestyle / freeride model that is optimized for lighter weights and generally smaller riders. The flex pattern is softer for a smoother ride and the stance widths are slightly narrower than the rest of our range. The XO is built on the design platform of our popular ACE model to give it a wide range of performance opportunities.

Great Women's Kiteboard
I was told that the XO is just a Cabrinha Ace with girly graphics. It’s not actually designed by and for women like other “women’s” boards. I didn't care, and I don’t think any other women kiters are going to care either after they try it. The board, in the 133 size, was really comfortable to ride. It's lighter than a lot of other wood construction boards in the same size, so it feels a lot like the other “women's” boards that are specifically designed for the small board sizes.
The XO is easy to ride. It holds and edge and goes upwind really well, and because it's lighter, it's super easy to hop into toeside or do jumps (mine are usually small). I've tried other boards in the same size that are heavy, and they're never very fun for me to ride because the weight is noticeable.
It might be a girly colored guy’s board, but in the smaller size, it definitely felt like it was designed for a smaller person. There must be a lot of smaller guys out there riding the Ace. LOL
I tried the XO board with H1 footstraps and then again with H20 straps. Definitely pay the extra money for the H20 straps. They are a lot more comfortable than the H1s. I had H1s on my first kiteboard, a Cabrinha Spectrum, and I hated them. It’s nice to see that Cabrinha is finally offering some comfortable straps.
If you’re looking for a woman’s board, this is a good one. Doesn’t matter that it wasn’t designed specifically for us, it definitely works well for us.
