These neoprene tops are about as thick as a rash guard but will keep you as warm as 2mm neoprene. They have the smooth skin feel and wind breaking characteristics, but your finger nails will not rip them. They are extremely durable, comfortable, light, and warm. Wear them just as a top or as a layer under your wetsuit to significantly reduce the wind chill.
- Comfort and flexibility of a rashguard
- Lightweight and water-repellant
- Boardshorts attachment loop
- Flatlock seams

Great top, highly recommend.
I bought this top right before my kite trip to Brazil. I wanted a light, flexible, and comfortable top that would keep the sun off me and also cut the wind. This top delivered above and beyond. I didn't feel the wind at all, and even sitting in the sun between sessions, the black color was never too hot. The top dries quickly too, which definitely keeps you from getting too cool when you get out from evaporative cooling (unlike with a traditional neoprene top). It also dries pretty quickly too, which was a nice bonus for packing while traveling.
The top is SUPER flexible, which is a big plus. I am a big/tall guy (6'6" 230bs) so I was hesitant when reading that the sizes run small (definitely agree). I went with an XXL (just barely in my size range, so didn't have much choice to go up a size). The top was definitely snug but that actually made me like it more since I didn't have to worry about it riding up or sagging when it got wet (like other rash guards I have used in the past). Also, I am confident that this top will provide a nice base layer for under my 3/2 NP Rise wetsuit for the colder Florida winter sessions (the top went on fine when I tried it on under my wetsuit).
My only negative comment is that after 2 full days of riding, I began to notice a little bit of wear in the armor skin on the outside where the bar of my harness applies pressure. I don't know if this will effect the long term performance of the top (time will tell) but it appeared to be mostly superficial wear.
Overall, for the cost, this is a great fitting top that is comfortable to wear, flexible, and versatile.
Definitely recommend it
The best product on the market. There is no competitors who is doing this. Very durable, thin, stops the wind. I can windsurf 4 hours, take a rest on a windy beach and come back into the water for 4 hours more - all warm.
awesome in the winter and awesome in the spring time, you can keep it on between sessions to warm u up, point ur back towards the sun
thing is great as an underlayer for the winter wetsuit...
has held up strong after constant use for a couple of months, would buy again in a heart beat if i lost it
i like it more than my promotive fleece
i would say it doesn't keep u as warm as a 2mm top, more like a 1-1.5mm top, but with so much more flexibility
The NP Edge Wind top is versatile. I have been using it under my wetsuits for a bit of added warmth. Due to it being thin i can get in the wet suit easy and don't really feel that its there. I am also really impressed with how durable it is.
