Cabrinha FX - For Hooked and Unhooked Freestyle Tricks
For riders that mix hooked and unhooked freestyle tricks and like to kiteloop. The wide wind range offers more versatility than a traditional “C” shape, and offers smooth power delivery with predictable handling. The FX is designed to bridge the gap between advanced freestyle and performance freeride kites.
The FX implements an upright modified C shape design to get the best performance characteristics of a C shape with the versatility of a hybrid outline. The FX delivers a fast turn in a tight arc which makes it perfect for kite looping.... hooked or unhooked. Its lean entry and profile allows the kite to reach its zenith after a loop to give you a soft and controlled landing.

Great kite, great customer experience
Just bought the 14m 2018 Cabrinha FX to upgrade my beginner Airush DNA 14m.
I am 6'0 190-195lbs and have been riding for around 30 sessions.
For a 14m, this kite is really quick which you'd expect from a Hybrid kite like the FX (this was one of the main reasons why I chose this model). No bad surprises here. I am excited when I see that I can get the 14m out.
I haven't had the opportunity to try this kite in low wind so I would not comment on that (yet) but I can say that the kite can be handled up to 25kts (in gusts) quite nicely which allows me to narrow the gap with my 10m. The depower is good with the Overdrive 1x 2017 trimlite bar and I haven't had any trouble trimming on the go to adjust to wind conditions.
Relaunching was not an issue but again I was never out with less than 12kts so cannot comment on light wind conditions.
Finally I read that this kite might be more difficult to handle than a Switchblade and that the jumps are trickier, I do not have any issue with the timing on the jumps with the FX. I had tried a 2017 14m Switchblade and was not impressed as everything felt sooo slow. I would agree that the FX is less “powerfull” at the same size but the gain in quickness is much more important to me.
All in all, a great kite that I would recommend and that was sold to me by a very friendly and helpful Green Hat team.
