2024 North Charge Pro Surfboard

PERFORMANCE SURF

Developed for surfing. Engineered for kitesurfing. Smooth and powerful down the line, turning hard in the pocket and releasing on-demand, the Charge Pro is a high-performance surfboard. It is a fast, dedicated surf shape with loads of projection for a powerful vertical attack in larger waves. The Charge Pro also excels at carving, driving upwind, onshore riding, and is versatile enough for aerial tricks. North's Pro construction, Carbon Innegra Futurelite, maximises the board’s strength, without losing flex or responsiveness, while the DualShock EVA inserts increases its durability and protects from heel dents. With fast response, speed and drive, the 2024 Charge Pro delivers a smooth, powerful ride with a positive feel in critical turns. You only need to see North riders charging some of the world’s biggest waves to witness the handling at speed and drive through the turns. The wide point of the board is slightly forward, with concave under the front foot for a fast, driving bottom turn and responsive pivotal top turn with easy release.  Rounded surf rails are lower and more refined, giving the board more grip when you’re carving the wave face. The Charge Pro features a two-piece no-slip deck grip, with front and rear kicks for exceptional comfort and control.

Technology

NEW FASTER PERFORMANCE SURFBOARD OUTLINE
North moved the widest point of the board forward slightly, enabling improved handling at speed and improving the drive through turns.

LOW ENTRY SURF ROCKER
For fast acceleration, speed and drive. The low-entry surf rocker combines with generous width and volume, making the board easy to ride with great upwind ability for getting back to the take-off zone.

NEW INCREASED DEEP SINGLE TO SLIGHT-DOUBLE CONCAVE BOTTOM
For 2023, North increased the concave under the front foot, which contributes to a fast, driving bottom turn and responsive pivotal top turn with easy release.

FUTURELITE TECHNOLOGY
A lightweight Carbon Innegra Futurelite wireframe forms a structural skeleton to support the laminates, maximizing strength without losing flex, and allowing the board to load and release power on demand for more drive and responsiveness.
On the top side, the Futurelite runs down the centreline of the board and around the foot strap inserts. On the bottom side, it runs along the rails and locks in the leash plug and fin boxes, giving the board a direct feel with no delay. Futurelite allows North to dial in the flex of the board perfectly and create a very durable, lightweight kite surfboard that really comes alive in the waves.

NEW FINER, LOWER PROFILE SURF RAILS
Lower volume, more pinched rail for a responsive feel and lock-in grip, helps to engage the board into the wave face and give the rider confidence to charge.

LIGHTWEIGHT PREMIUM FCSII FIN BOXES
Precisely tuned for smoother, tighter turns. The lightweight FCSII Premium fin box is compatible with both FCSI and click-in keyless FCSII fins for more speed & drive, quicker acceleration, and more response from your board. High-density foam reinforcements surrounding the FCSII fin box are shaped to match the curved template of the finbox for a clean bond and smoother load transfer into the board. Fin boxes, leashplug and footstrap inserts are structurally integrated, locking in to the laminate with the Futurelite carbon innegra system to give extra reinforcement and flex-tuning.
Fins are sold separately.

DUALSHOCK EVA INSERTS
With a stronger fibreglass layup under the main impact areas to add more durability and help reduce denting around your heel. North's solution to reduce over-engineering, keeping the boards lightweight while retaining required flex.

NEW 2-PIECE DECK GRIP WITH TOE BUMP AND REAR WEDGE KICKER
New two-piece fine corduroy no-slip deckpad with intuitive front toe bump and rear wedge kick for maximum traction and control.

FOOT STRAP INSERT OPTIONS - RECOMMENDED WITH FREE STRAPS (sold separately)
For when conditions get challenging, locking the rider into a comfortable stance for control in high winds or large waves. Experience instant-planing in full comfort with North's lightweight memory foam surf straps, featuring North's unique pre-tensioned and laminated seamless KnitFlex inners. The Free Straps allow you to customise your fit and stance, giving you freedom to move and shred in any conditions.

RECOMMENDED WITH NORTH HEXCEL COREMAT FINS  (sold separately)
Lightweight fibreglass raked thruster surf fins for smooth control and traction. The custom fin base shape does not require FCSII infills. Fins are sold separately.

HONEYCOMB MESH PACKAGING
North removed all plastic from their surfboard packaging, replacing it with a unique cushioning material that mimics honeycomb. Strategically cut to allow the card to stretch into many different hexagons, this flexible material creates a lightweight protective layer of 'honeycomb' mesh. The mesh behaves like a spring to absorb impact and protect the board from abrasion.
Conventional cardboard box packaging is very rigid and offers little cushioning or support around large, curved items like surfboards. As a solution, the space between a product and its box is often filled with polystyrene, bubble wrap and other single-use plastic materials to create a layer of protection. Many of these materials cannot be recycled and contribute to the plastic waste that ends up in our oceans and landfills.
